I vaguely remembered what pasties tasted like because it's been a good 10 years since I've had one, but these were amazing!! The woman behind the counter was friendly and very straight forward. She asked if we had ever been there before and then told us the options for the traditional meat pasties, they come hot, cold, or frozen. I also tried pasties at a place in mackinaw city on this same trip and these ones here had by far a more flakier dough and tasted more traditional, as if your friends mom made them. Where as the ones in mackinaw city weren't bad, but tasted more processed. There's no indoor seating, just a few picnic tables outside, but there is a really nice roadside park just east of this on us-2 that makes for a perfect place to eat your pasties.

Driving up seeing this monument in the distance is like seeing Mount Olympus. Your jaw drops in sheer awe as you enter this palace in the north. The smells hit like Hephaestus hammer walking in the door. The woman behind the counter elegant as Aphrodite providing your options of obtaining this delicacy made for gods, but bestowed upon mortal man. Quick as Hermes she swoops to the back and you hear a small tussle like that of Odysseus besting the Minotaur! Mouths watering waiting in anticipation she emerges. Handing us our parcel and a diet coke. We travel back to the overlook just up the way. Opening this package is a pastie fit to fell the hunger of even the mightiest of Titans! Eating this filled me after a long journey. 204 miles to be exact, with the strength of Hercules himself! I sat satiated on this magnificent view like beholding the scape of Tartarus in all its turbulent beauty.(it was starting to rain) content as Zeus upon his throne, we departed for the lost island. I will definitely make this journey again in the next month.

As my mother was from Ontonagon MI of 9 children I've tasted a pastie or two. these are the best traditional pasties I've ever had. This pastie was so good that I ate it in my hand with the inner wrap paper (it did not fall apart) and did not realize until I was better than half way through that I had not put any Ketchup on it the next time I asked for some ketchup but did not use it. Lehto's pasties are the best . Must be the competition giving the bad reviews, you do know this is not a Greek pastry?

Super simple strait forward menu. You'll be able to get an excellent traditional pastie, beef, potato, onion and rutabaga. Very fresh, very flavorful flakey pastry that it was baked in. You can get gravy too along with a beverage and that's it. Keeping it simple but perfect for 70 years.

I always pass Lehto's on the way to Skanee but never stopped there. Boy, was I missing out. These are the best darn pasties I ever had.
