Loved the location. So convenient. The room was fantastic except for the pull out couch mattress. Thin and could feel the springs. I remedied that by sleeping on the couch cushions on top of said matress. The queen bed was very comfortable for my elder parents. The staff were bright, happy, and professional!! I would stay here again.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Inn last weekend. It was only a half mile from the Star Line Ferry dock which made getting to the Island very easy! The Innkeepers are extremely friendly and breakfast was amazing. The view from the second story balcony was beautiful. I will definitely be recommending the Colonial Inn to friends & family!
We stayed at the Colonial House after our visit to Mackinac Island and it was great! The breakfast the next morning was amazing! The owner and staff were very nice and offered great travel advice!
They know us very well and go out of their way to greet us. The entire staff is friendly and the rooms are immaculate and comfortable. The location in St. Ignace is centrally located with easy walking access to most of the town and island ferries.
As other reviewers have said, the owners are very nice and friendly! Chris helped me understand the schedule for the Star Line Ferry, which is an easy half-mile walk. I stayed in Room 11 of the motel and found it to be very cheerful, clean and cozy! Amenities included a nightlight, table and chairs for dining, a swivel flat screen tv (watch from dining area or bedroom), a fireplace, a queen bed and a day bed, private bath with tub and shower, easy control heat and A/C, mini fridge, toiletries, luggage stand, wooden hangers, dresser of drawers, nice quilt bedding, 3-way lamps, desk with drawers, Mackinac Island magazine, two entry/exit doors, and several patio chairs and small table on the balcony. The owners were nice to let me use the microwave in the kitchen of the main house. The price was incredibly reasonable, and when I was there, it was very quiet and peaceful. The garden is a lovely spot to sit and the water view is heavenly. Fireworks happen several nights a week nearby. I would stay here again and will recommend to friends!
